To Ring True
Like the bell and its echo
Remains the bell’s echo
O’re the valley and into the blue
I want my work to ring true.
Like the voice of an old friend,
Comforting and confident,
Always the same ~ there for you,
I want my work to ring true.
Like reading a letter from someone
You love, reassuring and caring,
Over and over, all the way through
I want my work to ring true.
Like knowing the sun
will come up and go down,
Like a son’s jolly quips
always making you laugh,
Like the years make a recipe
the very best brew,
I want my work to ring true.
